1. A GREAT POSSIBILITY
It is possible through Jesus Christ to have assurance that when you die you are going to heaven and to have a full and meaningful life right now.
2. A GREAT PROBLEM
Every member of the human race is born with a sin nature "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. Mankind is universally lost. Sin separates mankind from a righteous God, not only now but eternally in hell. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23.
3. A GREAT PROVISION
The one true God has revealed Himself to the world through Jesus Christ. God has provided through Jesus Christ the only way of Salvation. God loves mankind so much that He gave His life to pay the penalty for sin. "For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8.
4. A GREAT PRIVILEGE
God gives us the privilege of being saved from our sins. You must repent of your sins ("Unless you repent you will all likewise perish" Luke 13:3) and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ ("Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” Acts 16:31). Faith and repentance are different sides of the same coin. When you turn in faith to Christ, you turn from sin and trust Him as Lord of your life. To experience this forgiveness the Bible declares you must REPENT of your sins; be sorry and be willing to turn your life totally over to God.
5. A GREAT PRAYER
It is possible for you to be saved right now. The Bible says, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10.
You can express the faith that is in your heart by praying a sincere prayer like this:
"Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that You love me and want to save me. Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe God raised You from the dead. I now turn from my sin and, by faith, receive You into my life as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my heart, forgive my sins, and save me, Lord Jesus. In Your name, I pray, Amen."
6. A GREAT PROMISE
You can be sure you are saved. Salvation is a matter of faith, not feeling. God's word is our assurance. The Bible says, "For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13
You can count on God to keep his promises. God wants you to be sure you are saved. The Bible says "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:11-13
You may be wondering, "What do I do now?" The Bible is very clear that there are steps you need to take after your salvation experience.
Step 1: Eternal Life is entirely in receiving Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. (1 John 5:11-13)
Step 2: Baptism follows salvation. Only God's children qualify for baptism. (Matthew 3:13-17)
Step 3: Christians mature by feeding on God's Word, serving Him, and establishing Christian fellowships. (1 Peter 2:2)
